2023-03-28

With the continuous development of human production activities, various types of waste gas are discharged into the atmosphere, causing great harm to the environment. To reduce such impacts, eco-friendly waste gas treatment has become an important social issue nowadays.

1. Principles of Eco-friendly Waste Gas Treatment

The main pollutants in waste gas are nitrogen oxides (NOx) and volatile organic compounds (VOCs), which are mostly generated from the combustion of coal, petroleum and natural gas. Once released into the air, these substances will be oxidized into carbon dioxide (CO₂) and water vapor (H₂O).

2. Common Waste Gas Treatment Technologies

There are numerous waste gas disposal methods, among which filtration and purification are the most widely used. Filtration aims to separate particulate matters from exhaust gas, while purification decomposes or adsorbs harmful substances inside. There are two main filtration ways: electrostatic filtration builds an electrostatic field inside the gas flow to adsorb particles onto filter media; dust removal equipment directly intercepts solid particles to achieve purification. Common purification technologies include activated carbon adsorption, photocatalysis, chemical absorption and biological treatment. Activated carbon adsorbs toxic pollutants, photocatalysis breaks down hazardous substances by light irradiation, and chemical absorption removes pollutants via chemical reaction.

3. Advantages of Eco-friendly Waste Gas Treatment

Eco-friendly waste gas treatment technology brings prominent economic and environmental benefits. It can effectively cut down pollution damage to the ecological environment. Meanwhile, it helps enterprises greatly save operational and governance costs with high practical value.

Waste gas environmental treatment is a systematic project that requires joint cooperation from all sectors. It is hoped that everyone can fully realize its importance and take active actions to contribute to environmental improvement.
