Compared with ordinary woven filter media, needle punched filter felt owns the following advantages:
1. Large porosity and superior air permeability, which improves equipment load capacity and reduces pressure loss and energy consumption. Made of crisscross arranged fine short fibers with evenly distributed pores, its porosity reaches over 70%, twice that of woven filter cloth. Filter bags made of needle punched felt can downsize baghouse dust collectors and cut energy consumption effectively.
2. High dust collection efficiency and low exhaust gas concentration. Actual test shows its filtration efficiency for 325-mesh talc powder (median particle size around 7.5μm) hits 99.9%-99.99%, one order of magnitude higher than flannel filter media, keeping flue gas emission far below national standard limits.
3. Processed via hot pressing, singeing or surface coating for smooth and flat texture. It features good anti-clogging performance, stable shape, easy dust cleaning and long service life, which is 1 to 5 times longer than common woven filter cloth.
4. Excellent chemical stability. It is applicable for filtration of normal-temperature and high-temperature flue gas, as well as corrosive gas containing acid and alkali components.
